Acne is generally successfully treated with a variety of topical medications. The newest topical treatment, Aczone or Dapsone gel is extremely effective. Other acne treatments are given by mouth such as doxycycline and spironolactone. Cystic acne may require other long-term oral antibiotics or oral contraceptive such as Yaz orOrtho Tricyclen Lo.
