Dutasteride

Bald? Dutasteride!

Jeff Bezos and Vladimir Putin have the same problem. They are both bald!

Dermatologists call it Androgenic Alopecia or Pattern hair loss. There are several factors contributing to this condition such as heredity, hair follicle microbes, an imbalance between free radicals and antioxidants, and most importantly a bloodstream hormone, dihydrotestosterone or DHT.

The diagnosis of Pattern hair loss in men and women is usually a straight forward clinical diagnosis there are other exacerbating and compounding medical conditions which need to be ruled out on history, physical exam and lab work.

Once the diagnosis of Androgenic Alopecia is clear, there are many treatment options. The most effective, economical, and safest is called Dutasteride. First the scalp is numbed utilizing a topical cream. Then the problematic area of hair loss is treated with microinjections with a low concentration Dutasteride, an FDA cleared anti-androgen medication that blocks DHT. The results are truly impressive without any side-effects such as sexual dysfunction seen with anti-androgen medication
taken by mouth.Dustasteride shows impressive results in 4 months while hair transplants take up to a year. Additionally, many hair transplant patients experience increased hair loss soon after hair transplants before new hair grows in a year after the transplant.
