Acne is generally successfully treated with a variety of topical medications. The newest topical treatment, AMZEEQ® ARAZLO™ and AKLIEF® are extremely effective.

 

Other acne treatments are given by mouth such as doxycycline and spironolactone. Cystic acne may require other long-term oral antibiotics or oral contraceptive such as Yaz orOrtho Tricyclen Lo.

Lasers may shorten and frequently eliminate the need for chronic antibiotics, even Accutane. See below. A laser such as Fraxel repair treats the acne scars once the inflammatory acne is clear.
