PLATELET-RICH PLASMA THERAPY

Platelet-rich plasma or PRP utilizes your own plasma, concentrated with your bodies platelets. Your natural growth factors are released to stimulate skin rejuvenation.

Platelet Rich Plasma has many applications. It is a pain free method to improve pitted acne scars on face, chest and back. Called a “Vampire Facial,” it is gaining notoriety among those in the know to rejuvenate skin, especially nasolabial folds and fine smile lines.

Platelets have natural chemicals called cytokines that are released into the skin and instruct the body to form collagen for more youthful, toned and smoother appearance.

After a treatment, the skin’s appearance is healthier due to thickening of the dermis ith natural toning.

PRP is also used like fillers, injected into facial wrinkles and folds to add volume to the skin. Unlike Juvederm Voluma™, Juvederm XC™, Restylane™ and Radiesse™, PRP restores the shape of your face using your own blood platelets. No surgery is involved with PRP. It can also be done along with fillers for deeper folds for additional augmentation and a longer lasting fill. Platelets generate a fibrin lattice that signals your fibroblast cells to produce new collagen and the bodies own natural filler.

Occasionally, Platelet Rich Plasma is applied topically, on the surface along of the skin with Dermaroller or microneedling for more superficial regeneration.

PRP therapy is ideally suited for the horizontal lines of the neck, crow’s feet, wrinkles under the eyes and the décolletage.

Additionally, Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy is an exciting therapeutic non-surgical alternative for male and female patients experiencing hair loss.
